Types and main uses of molybdenum products (1)
Many molybdenum products come from molybdenite (MoS2). The ore is mined and processed to obtain the following molybdenum products, including:
Molybdenum chemicals
Including pure molybdenum oxide and molybdate, as well as lubricant grade MoS2, used in catalysts, polymer compounding, corrosion inhibitors and high-performance lubricants.
Molybdenum furnace charge products
Including industrial molybdenum oxide, ferromolybdenum and molybdenum metal particles, as alloy additives for iron, steel, nickel alloys and titanium alloys.
Molybdenum
Including powder, molybdenum metal and molybdenum-based alloy rolled products and products made from them.
Molybdenum chemicals
Molybdenum chemicals sold on the market include:
Lubricant grade molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), obtained by drying and de-oiling high-purity molybdenite concentrate without roasting;
Sublimated pure molybdenum oxide, made from sublimation of molybdenum calcine;
Ammonium heptamolybdate;
Ammonium octamolybdate;
Ammonium dimolybdate;
Calcined pure molybdenum oxide, and upgraded processing of molybdenum calcine through wet chemical process
Sodium molybdate.
Due to its unique characteristics, molybdenum chemicals are widely used in:
Desulfurization catalysts, pigments, paints, corrosion inhibitors, fertilizer micronutrients, flame retardants and smoke inhibitors, lubricants suitable for extreme pressure and temperature conditions, and nanomaterials.
